ACTING 101
ages 7-11yrs and ages 12yrs+

In ACTING 101 students will learn to build their acting skills by asking Who, What, When, Where, Why and How from a character's perspective.
TUITION
$20 per student
$15 per student - Discounted Tuition for students enrolled in two or more AWH Summer Series classes or siblings enrolled in an AWH Summer Series class. ( Does not need to be the same class)
Deposit: A $10/class non-refundable, non-transferable deposit is due with registration.
Tuition Balance due: 14 days prior to class.
Refund Policy: A full refund minus deposit will be made when email or written notice of withdrawal is received 14 days prior to class. Tuition is not refundable 14 days prior to the class.

CHRISTMAS IN JULY THEME!
ages 7-11yrs and ages 12yrs+

Acting skills taught during games:
- develop imagination. Developing imagination is an integral part of creating and conveying body expression, facial expression, acting and storyline.
- developing attention. In order to understand ones character, the other characters, and how to interact- it is vital to pay close attention to every detail of other people's characters in order to comprehend who the character is, what each character is motivated by, learn about characters and get to know know each character in order to understand how to respond.
- encourage actors to get comfortable putting oneself in a vulnerable position of showing various emotions.
- increase memory
- teach how to use one's body to convey emotion, expression and body language.
- develop the skills of acting and reacting. Acting comes alive and storyline is told as actors act and react to one another and situations. Learning how to accurately portray body language is an essential tool.
- practice how to use stage to tell a story.

- to say, " YES! annd...." and how saying, " yes, and..." creates a collaborative effort and storytelling
- how to work collaboratively
- to be open to other people's ideas
- how to shut down negative inner dialogue and to free oneself to be open to creativity and letting creativity flow without judgement
- how to tell a story
- to feel more comfortable speaking in front of others
